Leaping Wolf Syllabus
The work for the Leaping Wolf Badge will take about 6 months to 1 year to complete and there is a lot of homework to be done than for the previous progress badges! Listed below are all the items the cubs cover during the year, and items in bold are work that will be given to the cubs at some point during the year. Not all items have homework. Where there is a form that needs to be filled in, there is a link to that form.
Leaping Wolf is the top Cub award, and significant parental support is required for the cubs to attain this.
Complete the Lion Badge
Greening our Community
- Plan and carry out a planting project at your Scout Hall or in your community. OR Earn the Food for Life badge.
Scoutcraft
- Make a knotting display showing all ten knots you have learnt.
Cubs can practice and learn any and all of the knots from their cub trails, or from the Pro Plan Charts linked, and then show a Scouter that they can do the knots at a Cub Meeting. Cubs should also practice the knots regularly once they have learnt them. If you don't practice them, you forget them!
Personal Challenge
- Undertake a personal challenge in connection with your school or home or social life. This need to be discussed with both parents, the cub and the scouter before a decision is made on what the cub's personal challenge is to be.
Technology in Action
- Find out about a technology of your choice. This could be a personal computer, a car engine, an aircraft, cell phone or anything similar. Understand the basic functions of the technology and how it is used and a brief history. Present your findings to the rest of the Pack.
Global Awareness
- Find out about a global issue such as poverty, conservation or water and sanitation and what you can do to help.
My Challenge
- Complete a log book recording your Leaping Wolf Challenge
Interest Badges
- Earn the First Aid Badge.
- Earn TWO of the following interest badges. NB. Regardless of which two you choose, NONE of these badges may be earned BEFORE your tenth birthday.
